Monhegan Island Dock 2 - #136 - Original Watercolor Painting

This is a second version of the Monhegan Island dock. Here I've brought the view in a bit tighter, and tried to make the painting more colorful and magical, as it might be in the evening.

Monhegan Island Dock - #135 - Original Watercolor Painting

Monhegan Island, lying just off the coast of Maine, allows no cars and has no paved roads. It has the reputation of being a painter's paradise. This is the first Monhegan Island painting I've done, and instead of painting the cottages, I've painted the dock - the views of the sea are beautiful all over the island, and I seem more drawn to the seashore than to the inland island landsdape.
