Lake Lucerne Sailing - #112 - Original Watercolor Painting

Lucerne, Switzerland is a fairy-tale town, and Lake Lucerne is absolutely gorgeous. It is surrounded by mountains, and has a seemingly infinite number of coves and harbors. I saw this sailboat on Lake Lucerne, its white sail making a stark contrast with the nearby mountain foliage, with a mountain further back fading into the mist.

Trier, on the Mosel river, is the oldest city in Germany. Porta Nigra is the remnant of its Roman city gate, built before 200 AD. It has its present name due to the darkened color of its sandstone.
